PRESS RELEASE FOR VEHICLES OF YESTERYEAR
Pevensey Parish Council was pleased to be able to hold its Vehicles of Yesteryear event again on 2 April after a break of 3 years. The event was sponsored and aided by masonbryant, Estate Agents.
After several weeks of organisation and planning, the day before brought snow showers and cold winds, but as always Pevensey Bay weather did its bit to provide a lovely warm Spring day. Over 90 cars and vehicles were on display for the day, bringing their owners together and allowing many visitors to remember the days when cars had no “chips” and were often be repaired or got going at the road side.
Voting for the favourite and best in show was undertaken by the public and this year was won by a 1968 Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato 1-3S owned by Derek Creasy
Peter Lowton, Chair of Pevensey Parish Council said “this day is the kick start for the tourist season for Pevensey Bay and provided a chance for people to get together again after the pandemic. It was lovely to see so many people chatting and with smiles of their faces as well as to see so many vehicles that we can all remember from our past. We look forward to next year’s event which will again be in the early Spring”
