Accessibility Statement for Pevensey Parish Council Website

This accessibility statement applies to the website of Pevensey Parish Council: https://pevenseyparishcouncil.gov.uk.

Measures to support accessibility

Pevensey Parish Council is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
We have taken the following measures to support accessibility:

  • Accessibility is included as part of our mission and policies.

  • Accessibility requirements are integrated into our procurement and website development practices.

  • Regular checks are carried out to identify and fix accessibility issues.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Pevensey Parish Council Website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
This means that most of the site meets the requirements, but some content may not fully conform. We are continually working to improve accessibility and resolve outstanding issues.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, there are some known accessibility issues:

  • Older PDF and Word documents published before September 2018 may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are reviewing these and providing accessible alternatives where possible.

  • Some third-party plugins (such as cookie banners or embedded content) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Where this occurs, we are liaising with suppliers or applying fixes.

If you find any issues not listed here, please let us know.
