Pevensey Parish Council was thrilled to organise the Vehicles of Yesteryear event, once again. The long standing event showcased a collection of approximately 90 classic cars, motorcycles and also some very special military vehicles on Saturday 10th May 2025.
It was a perfect day out for residents, visitors and keen car enthusiasts. The event also marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day celebrations, which included ‘VE Day Jeeps on the Beach’ as well as a special guest appearance from a local veteran. The military vehicles travelled along the beach from Leyland Road towards Sea Road car park. They travelled in convoy, providing a unique display for all to see.
The cars that won the hearts of the visitor were
1st place Chevrolet Caprice Chassis/ MG midget,
2nd place Riley 9 March special ILEY 9
3rd place BMW Isetta
The village was buzzing with people coming far and wide to visit and see what Pevensey villages can offer, including the Aqua bar hosting an art exhibition, St Wilfrid’s Hall holding its monthly craft fair and the community hub celebrating VE day with music and volunteers dressing up in WW2 clothing. Visitors were also able to sample the eateries and see the amazing establishments in Pevensey Bay..
This popular event is always well attended, and Council would like to thank our sponsors masonbryant for their and help and attendance on the day.
Plans for next year’s event will commence towards the end of the year and we hope to make it just as spectacular!
