Pevensey Parish Council has been working with Wealden District Council for the last few months to promote the Shop Well and Dine Well campaign. Residents will remember the Safari Wildlife trail last Summer and will have noticed lampposts banners in Pevensey Bay to help promote the area and its businesses. Some small amounts of work to tidy up the village were also undertaken, including painting and renewal of the Parish Council noticeboard and sign in Pevensey Bay and some planters.
The funding came from Government funding called the Welcome Back Fund to help local High Street businesses. Prowse and Co commissioned the work which has included a number of still photographs and a short promotional video of the area. A leaflet was also produced to promote our local businesses. These are all available on the Parish Council website, www.pevenseyparishcouncil.gov.uk/tourism for all to see. Local businesses are being informed so that they can use and refer to the material to promote their own business and will aid tourism to the area.
Peter Lowton, Chair of Pevensey Parish Council said “ I am pleased that Pevensey Parish Council was able to work closely with this promotional work and hope that residents and our visitors will enjoy hearing and seeing a little of what we have in our historic and seaside parish and that more people will be encouraged to visit”.
